Assistant Professor Cam Emri Koksal
Can Emre Koksal, assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering, received a Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) award, the National Science Foundation’s most prestigious award in support of junior faculty who exemplify the role of teacher-scholars through outstanding research, excellent education and the integration of education and research within the context of the mission of their organizations.

Koksal received a $400,000 CAREER grant to support his research on the “Design and Control of Wireless Networks on Network-Information-Theoretic Foundations.” This project aims to significantly improve the performance of wireless networks by developing practical network algorithms over an underlying infrastructure of multiuser channels along with the appropriate information-theoretic mechanisms. This will enable the design and implementation of faster, more reliable, and more robust wireless networks operating under a variety of conditions.

Koksal joined the ECE faculty in 2006. His research interests include wireless communication, communication networks, information theory, stochastic processes and financial economics.
