5 faculty members promoted in ECE

Four members of the ECE faculty have been elevated to full professor and one to research associate professor for the 2014-15 academic year.

Faculty promoted to full professor were:

Eylem Ekici, whose areas of interest include computer networks, wireless and satellite systems, routing protocols, and QoS provisioning. He received his PhD in 2002 from Georgia Institute of Technology.

Wu Lu, whose work includes nanofabrication and nanoelectronics, chemical/biosensors and bioelectronics, III-nitride high power and low noise electronics, high speed III-V compound semiconductor devices and circuits for microwave, mixed signal, and optoelectronic applications. He received his PhD from Southeast University, China, in 1994.

Aleix Martinez, whose interests include pattern recognition, computer vision, computational neuroscience, computational linguistics, learning, object recognition, face recognition and bioinformatics. He received PhDs from Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona and Universite de Paris VIII in 1998.

Andrea Serrani, whose focus is nonlinear control and systems theory, guidance and control of aerospace, underwater and terrestrial vehicles. He received his PhD in 1997 from University of Ancona.

In addition, one faculty member was named a research associate professor.

Emre Ertin, whose work focuses on statistical signal processing, distributed and sequential detection, wireless communication with applications to sensor networks and radar systems, recieved his PhD from The Ohio State University in 1999.
