Professor Paul Berger visited Lithuania in May to speak on modern photovoltaic and imaging detectors at the IEEE Lithuania Joint Chapter of AP/ED/MTT Societies and IEEE Lithuania Section.

Berger is an IEEE Fellow and distinguished lecturer of EDS. His lecture was presented to the Faculty of Electronics of Vilnius Gediminas Technical University for members of the IEEE Lithuania Section, students, and representatives of the local scientific community and businesses.

In the first part of his presentation, Berger introduced a case study of polymer-fullerene derivative bulk heterojunction photovoltaics in which the key features, advantages, current world-wide strategies and unresolved problems of the polymer photovoltaic were shown. The second part of the lecture was directed toward manufacturable passive millimeter-wave imaging detectors.

Berger is a faculty advisor to The Ohio State University’s undergraduate and graduate IEEE Student Chapters.
