ECE MeetUp: get electric with the Buckeye Current program

Posted:

As you may have seen referenced in numerous College of Engineering publications, the Ohio State Center for Automotive Research (CAR) is home to one of the most exciting student projects around, the Buckeye Current electric motorcycle team. The 30-student team works year-round to create and tune their electric motorcycle to compete (and succeed!) in professional racing challenges such at the Isle of Man TT Zero and Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.

Join us for an evening at the Center for Automotive Research as we:

• meet the Buckeye Current team

• get a history of the Buckeye Current and results in competition

• understand the technical and design decisions that are made in order to meet their goals

• learn how the experience assists team members with their career aspirations

• view the Buckeye Current up close

• get a tour of CAR

Unfortunately, Alumni test rides are not possible. :-(

If you like motorcycles, this event is for you!  Even if you don’t, you will be amazed and proud of the opportunities and accomplishments that CAR provides OSU Engineering students.

Of course, there will the usual refreshments and mingling with other ECE Alumni.  For this event, we are having a trial-run of holding a meetup on Saturday evening given past feedback of challenges making events on weeknights after work.

Parking is free!  Guests are welcome!

Location: Ohio State Center for Automotive Research, 930 Kinnear Rd., Columbus, OH.

*** Continuing Education Credit:  We have recently learned that our events might qualify for Continuing Education Credits.  Contact us if interested.
