Ohio State University students who have a research mentor and project proposal may be eligible to apply for up to $3,500 in research funds for summer 2014 from the Undergraduate Research Office. The funds provide especially promising candidates for graduation “with Honors Research Distinction” the opportunity to enhance significantly the quality of their honors research and thesis projects. To be eligible, applicants must be members of an Honors program and be approved for candidacy for graduation “with Honors Research Distinction” during the 2014-2015 or 2015-2016 academic year.

Applications require a completed application packet, cover letter, research proposal, and two recommendations, including one from your project advisor. All student materials should be submitted online and all faculty recommendations should be emailed to summerresearch@osu.edu by February 14, 2014. For more detailed instructions, see the application components.

What will students need to do if awarded this fellowship? A report on the progress of the project is required by the first day of Autumn Semester 2014.  Scholarship recipients will be required to present their findings (or work in progress) at the 2014 Fall Undergraduate Research Day and are strongly encouraged to apply to present at the 2015 Denman Undergraduate Research Forum.

Selection Process: Made in consultation with University-wide faculty and will be based upon the quality of the research proposal, the student's academic performance and promise, and the quality of faculty recommendations.
