Nathan Smith receives third place in AMTA Student Paper Contest

Nathan Smith, a graduate student in electrical and computer engineering, earned third place in the Antennas Measurement Techniques Association’s (AMTA) 2011 Student Paper Contest. The award was presented on October 20, 2011 during AMTA’s conference in Englewood, Colorado.

Chi-Chih Chen and John L. Volakis are Smith’s advisors and the co-authors of his paper, “Frequency and Impedance Agile Real-Time Tuning Network For 200-400 MHz Antennas.”

Smith is a graduate research associate at the ElectroScience Laboratory. His primary research interests are agile impedance matching systems, antenna arrays, measurements, and antenna feeding techniques.
