Autumn 2011 ECE Alumni Newsletter published

Posted:

Learn how ECE faculty, students and alumni are making a difference

Learn why 35 middle and high school teachers from around Ohio attended summer school at The Ohio State University and how what they learned could help change their perception of engineering in the autumn 2011 issue of Bits & Sparks, the alumni newsletter for the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

This issue focuses on the people of ECE. Meet our six newest faculty members, read about three dedicated faculty who have retired, and learn what three ECE alumni are up to these days. Readers will also learn what role “lucky choices” played in Prof. Emeritus Robert Garbacz’s 56-year academic career.

Alumni can also get the latest news and announcements from the EE/ECE alumni society. For updates between issues, visit the society's webpage and Facebook page.

Lastly, explore the Integrated Sophomore Experience, a new program that is engaging and exciting ECE sophomore students through a combination of a custom integrated learning environment; modern, open labs; state-of-the-art equipment; and challenging and fun lab experiments.

Bits & Sparks is printed annually. If you have an interesting story to tell about yourself or a fellow ECE alum, please send a brief write-up and contact information to newsletter-feedback@ece.osu.edu.
