Assistant Professor Jin Wang
Dr. Jin Wang, assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering, was recently featured in the New York Times article, Utilities Seek Fresh Talent for Smart Grids by John Zeller Jr. The article discusses what educators, government officials and utilities are doing to interest and train students in smart grid technologies.

Dr. Wang leads the department’s efforts to reinvigorate electrical power engineering education by developing an interdisciplinary curriculum, called I-SMART: Integrated Curriculum for Smart Power Engineering, to train the next generation of power engineers on smart grid technologies. The department was awarded $2.5 million in Recovery Act Funds from the U.S. Department of Energy to develop the curriculum. Dr. Wang also supervises Ohio State's High Voltage and Power Electronics Laboratory.
