Jose Gutierrez, an undergraduate electrical and computer engineering student and cadet with ROTC Detachment 645 at The Ohio State University, earned the HENAAC 2010 Military ROTC Cadet Award for his achievements as an electrical and computer engineering major. Gutierrez has maintained a 3.7 grade-point average and earned the Minority Engineering Program award for the third consecutive year.

Air Force officials recognized Gutierrez during this year's Hispanic Engineering National Achievement Awards Corporation convention in Orlando, Fla., October 7 to 9.

The HENAAC Military ROTC Cadet Awards recognize outstanding college students from across the country who are working toward obtaining a degree in science, technology, engineering or math and are participating in their campus ROTC program. An ROTC cadet is selected from each of the service branches.

In addition to his involvement in ROTC, Gutierrez is a member Eta Kappa Nu (HKN), Ohio State’s honorary society for students majoring in electrical engineering; and the IEEE OSU Student Branch.
