ECE staff recognized for Going Above and Beyond

Jeri McMichael, an administrative assistant in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, was recently awarded a 2011 Above and Beyond Staff Award from the College of Engineering in recognition of her sustained dedication to quality and customer service.

“Jeri McMichael is a miracle worker whose efforts, by their excellence, make many tasks invisible to those constituents she serves,” said one of McMichael’s nominators.
McMichael who has worked with the Information Processing Systems Lab and the Institute for Sensing Systems since 1998, was also commended for her extremely positive attitude and unflappable enthusiasm.

Tricia Toothman, graduate academic counselor for the department, was also nominated for an Above and Beyond Staff Award.

McMichael and Toothman were both recognized at the College of Engineering’s annual staff appreciation luncheon in August. Ray Feast, business services officer at the ElectroScience Laboratory, and Jim Jones, laboratory supervisor, were also recognized for their 25 years of service to the College of Engineering.
