Learn how ECE faculty, students and alumni are making a difference

September 2010 – Electrical engineering enrollments are down nationwide and Ohio State is doing something about it. Read the autumn 2010 issue of Bits & Sparks, the recently revived alumni newsletter for the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, to learn how Prof. Betty Lise Anderson and her team of students are reaching out to interest high school students in engineering and what you can do to help.

This issue also highlights the tremendous impact scholarships have on the lives of our students and why three ECE alumni decided to establish scholarships for ECE students.

Discover how the ElectroScience Laboratory is reinventing itself in a new space to incorporate a model where private companies and public universities work together under the same roof in “ElectroScience Laboratory, Industry Partner on Facility Expansion.” Find out more and view photos of the construction progress via the ESL website.

Readers will also meet some of the newest faculty in ECE and find out the latest about some ECE faculty and alumni.

Bits & Sparks is printed annually in addition to the quarterly electronic newsletter. If you have an interesting story to tell about yourself or a fellow ECE alum, please send a brief write-up and contact information to newsletter-feedback@ece.osu.edu.
