Welcome back, Engineering students!

We want to celebrate the start of fall semester and welcome our new students. During these events, you're invited to come enjoy free food, facility tours and various events to learn more about opportunities within the college. More information and events are being added, so be sure to check back!

Registration is required for all tours.

ECE-related highlights to plan for throughout Aug. 22 to Sept.30. Check links for time and days:

Nano Technology West Laboratory: A 36,000-square-foot shared research facility located on OSU’s West Campus, NTW is an extensively equipped and fully staffed laboratory where researchers are provided 24/7 access to state-of-the-art laboratories and equipment, as well as in-house training, process and project support. During your tour of NTW you will have the opportunity to view our various lab spaces and hear from lab managers about the various equipment, research activities and research opportunities throughout the labs.

Center for Automotive Research: CAR is the preeminent research center in sustainable and safe mobility. CAR is recognized for interdisciplinary emphasis on systems engineering, advanced and unique experimental facilities, collaboration on advanced product development projects with industry, and a balance of government and privately sponsored research.

Electro Science Laboratory:  ESL is a premier center focused on all aspects of electromagnetics and radio frequency (RF) systems, including remote sensing, radar systems, communication systems, sensors and sensor fusion, antennas, mixed-signal integrated circuits, terahertz, millimeter waves, optics and photonics. The tour will include a stop at the largest academic anechoic chamber, which is used for measuring RF systems and antennas.

Engineering Career Services: (Location: Knowlton Plaza) ECS and our Employer Partners want to welcome you back to campus. At this tabling event, you will learn more about Engineering Career Services' offerings, events, and other important information that will set you up for job search success. Sweet treats and giveaways will be included!

Biomedical Engineering: (Location: Fontana lobby) Drop by Fontana lobby to welcome and reconnect with Biomedical Engineering students, faculty and staff. Learn how to get involved in BMES or BMEGSA, meet organization officers and faculty advisors, enjoy light refreshments -- and be sure to grab a free t-shirt!

It's a Block Party to welcome students! Come and enjoy food, music, and fun while learning more about engineering student services and programs. You can talk to engineering staff and student groups regarding scholarships, advising, student organizations, project teams, research opportunities, career services, meet the Embedded Counselors and the Advancement and Alumni Office. There's much more to learn about student opportunities and did we mention that there will be food, music and FUN!

Global Study Abroad and Humanitarian Engineering Scholars Programs: Are you interested in adding a global, humanitarian, or service component to your OSU engineering experience? Want to learn how you can develop a global perspective, engage with communities, learn through service and/or use your technical skills to advance humanity? If you said yes to any of these, consider stopping by to learn about Global Engineering, Study Abroad opportunities in engineering, the Humanitarian Engineering Scholars Program and the Humanitarian Engineering Minor.

K12 Outreach: Are you a “Homegrown Engineer”? Well, if you graduated from an Ohio High School – we think you are!  If you are interested in joining a team of current OSU students who are alumni from your former high school to go back and relate your engineering experiences, drop by the Hometown Ambassadors table and sign up! 

Engineering Advising: The Engineering Academic Success & Engagement (EASE) is dedicated to providing students with the information and resources related to your academic experience in the College of Engineering. We look forward to working with you!

Student Portraits Compliments of Engineering Technology Services: (Location: Knowlton 446) ETS has a studio for recording (both video and audio), photography, etc. in Knowlton on the 4th floor. Portrait headshots can be used by students for LinkedIn, web sites, etc. to promote their skills and academic/research activities.  No appointments needed but come ready for the professional headshot!
