By the Big Blue Lagoon

The crow glided down gently,
from the tall old craggy blue spruce,
to the small tidal pool below,
self service to a plush dinner dance,
all by the big blue lagoon!

Crabs, fish, snails and gray eel,
under the weed, water and by the kelp,
around rocks, pebbles and sand,
all fitting the party for a crow,
all by the big blue lagoon!

The eagle watched from the perch,
the heron knee deep in the lagoon,
the sparrows spluttering around,
and the seal watching from a rock,
all by the big blue lagoon!

The crow hopped over the pool,
landed on a slippery rock,
caught herself and bounced around,
skipped to the right and to the left,
all by the big blue lagoon!

Skipping about the little tidal pool,
she stepped on the pebbles,
Turned around and turned about,
Snatching a morsel or two, here and there,
all by the big blue lagoon!

She looked for ripples and waves,
scanning the water line ashore,
let out many ka ka's of joy, and,
back to the picky dinner dance,
all by the big blue lagoon!

The crow glided down gently,
from the tall old craggy blue spruce,
to the small tidal pool below,
self service to a plush dinner dance,
all by the big blue lagoon!
