"This school," Obama told a crowd at Ohio State's RPAC, "is a national leader in developing new sources of energy."

Obama was introduced by Vijay Gadepally, PhD candidate in electrical and computer egineering and president of Ohio State's Council of Graduate Students. Gadepally is researching autonomous vehicles and statistical modeling of driver behavior. He also is interested in the public policy aspects of autonomous vehicles.

Julia Hare, an undergrad in electrical and computer engineering, showed the Buckeye Electric Motorcycle to the president during his visit to the Center for Automotive Research.

"I'm excited that President Obama is turning to some of the youngest and most innovative minds here at OSU's Center for Automotive Research to learn about advancements in renewable and efficient energy," Hare said.
